January 16th, 2010

Hunter Valley Winery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri takes it’s name from the Jim and Lea Ann Casteel’s son, Hunter, and has been an ongoing project for over five years. Hunter Valley’s vineyards produces six types of grapes: Frontenac, St. Vincent, Traminette, La Crosse, Brianna, and Vidal Blanc.

All of their wines are made and bottled on location in a special fermentation room. Guests can try a small selection of food available such as Hunter’s Olive dip and bread as well as some meats and cheeses that pair beautifully with their wines. Visitors are also encouraged to bring picnic baskets and spend some time outdoors overlooking the lake with family and friends.
